REGISTER OF DEEDS

Many counties in SC have a separate Clerk of Court and Register of Deeds. In Edgefield County, the Clerk of Court is also the Register of Deeds. The Register of Deeds office is responsible for recording documents related to land, plats, Powers of Attorney, Military Discharge records (DD214), Deeds, etc. The Deed Room holds records dating back to 1913. Most records since 1996 are digital and can be accessed online.
